[Wlug] KDE died on me

I use startx to start either KDE or GNOME.  I type:

startx kde
startx gnome

to start the respective window manager.

here is what I put in .xinitrc

if [ "$1" = "kde" ] ; then
  exec startkde
fi
if [ "$1" = "gnome" ] ; then
  exec gnome-session
fi

Just providing the idea, since there was some mention of using gnome as
well as kde.
