Instead of using the obsolete OSS interface or downgrading 
alsa-plugins-pulseaudio as a workaround, you might try disabling 
timer-based audio scheduling:

Replace the line:

load-module module-hal-detect

in /etc/pulse/default.pa by:

load-module module-hal-detect tsched=0
