It is a 2.5" drive. It does not have an external power source, to answer eric's
question. I got a hold of a Y cable, but that didn't seem to help at all.
One labtop is linux and the other labtop is OS X. They both were able to see
the drive fine and mount it with the single USB cable, not the Y cable.
Currently the drive is formated hfs since i was testing it with the OS X
labtop. I find it strange that it can half see the drive. fdisk can see the
drive and partition it, but if you try to format the drive you get nothing
by read errors on just about every sector on the hard drive.
When i get back to my apartment, i will try Eric's suggestion on seeing if a
jump drive (which i assume is the same thing as a usb flash drive) can be read
by my mythtv box.
Thanks for you suggestions,
- Brad
